Coconut Ladoo Recipe

Coconut or Nariyal Ladoo Recipe

Dear Readers,

Today the recipe that I am going to share is not mine but my Mom's recipe. Though she is more famous for her soft and stuffy paranthas in my family but this time she tried something new, the Coconut ladoo.

Since we moved to Bangalore, my mom has made few friends who are south Indians and she has been learning few things. And coconut is available in abundance here. My kids love sweets and she made is especially for them.

I used to think making desserts or sweets is really difficult and complex but more I have seen my wife make those wonderful desserts like Bread and Egg Pudding, Tutti Fruity Cake and Mocha Mousse, I now know how easy are these. Do check out these recipes too by clicking on the name.

So this is how the amazingly tasty coconut ladoos look like.

Bread and Egg Pudding

Bread and Egg Pudding

When is comes to sweets and desserts, there are only two things I look forward to. The sweets with less sweet or any dessert made by my wife Bhavna. If you have seen the Tutti Frutti Cake she made which is on my blog, you will know how good she is with all things sweet.

On the same day she made that cake which she baked in afternoon, she made this even more awesome Bread and Egg Pudding for dinner. I have had puddings before, I have had good ones, but the flavor and taste was so awesome that I am still craving for it again. I must say, totally out of this world thing.

It doesn't look fancy, but let me tell you it looks delicious for sure.

Tutti Frutti Cake

Tutti Fruit Cake Recipe

Well, as you guys know I do not do desserts or cakes. But then my wife does, she cooks amazing desserts and like me, keeps on trying new things. But the puddings she makes are awesome. However, in our amazing extravaganza on Sunday, she made this cake which came out just like a professional bakery product. The texture, the taste, the look, everything was just perfect. Here is another cake she made, the Black Forest Cake that you might want to check out.

Mocha Mousse Recipe

 Hey Friends,

Now, I run this blog but sometimes my wife also cooks something delicious and out of this world and asks me to put it on the blog. She has made this Black Forest Cake which i think a lot of people loved. She is so good at desserts. Also, are these Uttapam on Bread, French Onion Soup and Goan Red Fish Curry. All these are totally to die for.

Though I do not have a sweet tooth at all, she loves it. And I actually liked it. So, hence I am sharing this recipe for you lovely guys.

Black Forest Cake

Black Forest Cake Recipe

Hey Friends,

This is Bhavna here this time. I am sure you must be getting a lot of non-veg recipes from Raj which he cooks up every weekend. I am the one who does the meetha stuff. LOL.

So, while he was cooking Rogan Josh, I decided to do this class Black Forest Cake recipe.

I like baking cakes and pudding and making all the desserts which we love after gorging on what Raj cooks. Though I have baked so many cakes and puddings and other stuff. I thought of sharing the wonderful home made cake recipe. It is basic but the joy of baking is what makes it special. You do everything on your own, right from the batter to icing and to layering. Just the passion makes it special.

I will just get on to the recipe here. Normally, you would use cherries in this but I did not have it. You can use cherries because that is the classic way.

Recipe

Sponge Cake:

  1. 2 cup all -purpose flour
  2. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  3. 6 tablespoon cocoa powder
  4. 1.5 cup sugar
  5. 1 cup oil
  6. 2 cup water (normal temp)
  7. 2 tablespoon lemon
  8. 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Panna Cotta

Panna Cotta or Panna Cotta Recipe

I could not have imagined myself getting into making desserts but finally, Panna Cotta is here!

Panna Cotta
Panna Cotta

It seems like even though I started this blog primarily as repository of non-vegetarian recipes, I am getting hooked onto other things as well as I am trying new things. I seriously do not have a sweet tooth and I would just taste any dessert and that's it, even if I like it very much.

But Panna Cotta seems like my kind of sweet. It is white (primarily but you can have a lot of variations), not too sweet much like Sandes (the bengali sweet) and Rasmalai. I like all of these.

Panna Cotta is an Italian dessert which includes use of Cream, egg whites and honey but outside Italy is little different and that is what I have done here. It is Eggless Panna Cotta. There could be so many variations of Panna Cotta but what I did was a very basic one.

It is basically cooked cream which is called Panna Cotta but let me take you through the complete recipe now.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup full cream milk.
  2. 200 ml cream. I used Amul Cream.
  3. 1 tablespoon Gelatin.
  4. Sugar would be as per taste. I did not want it too sweet so I added less.
  5. Cardamom Powder.
  6. Vanilla Essence. This is optional as I did not use it.
