Mocha Mousse Recipe

Mocha Mousse Recipe

 Hey Friends,

Now, I run this blog but sometimes my wife also cooks something delicious and out of this world and asks me to put it on the blog. She has made this Black Forest Cake which i think a lot of people loved. She is so good at desserts. Also, are these Uttapam on Bread, French Onion Soup and Goan Red Fish Curry. All these are totally to die for.

Though I do not have a sweet tooth at all, she loves it. And I actually liked it. So, hence I am sharing this recipe for you lovely guys.

For the base:
  1. 1 cup fruit muesli.
  2. 1/4 cup grated dark chocolate
For the Mocha Mousse:
  1. 1 spoon gelatin
  2. 1 1/2 tbsp custard powder
  3. 1/2 cup milk
  4. 1 1/2 tsp coffee powder
  5. 1/2 cup grated dark chocolate
  6. 1 cup cream (Used Amul cream)
  7. 6 tbsp powdered sugar
  8. 1/2 tsp vanilla essence

For the Base;
  1. Melt the chocolate over low heat in a  pan. Once melted, add the fruit muesli to it and mix well.
  2. Can add a little milk to mix it well .
  3. Press this mixture evenly into the vessel in which you want to set the mousse.
  4. Refrigerate.
For the Mousse:
  1. Dissolve the gelatin in 1/2 cup warm water .Mix well and keep aside. The gelatin mixture needs to be little warm, when you add to the mousse mixture.
  2. Combine custard powder, milk, coffee powder, 1 tsp sugar and grated dark chocolate in a bowl and mix well.
  3. Bring it to a boil , stirring continuously. Lumps should not be formed. let it be on low heat for 2-3 minutes
  4. Add the gelatin solution to it and mix well.
  5. In another bowl, take the cream and add the sugar to it, and whip it well till soft peaks are formed
  6. Slowly add the whipped cream mixture to the custard-coffee mixture and mix gently.
  7. Pour this mixture over the museli base and refrigerate till properly set. (Takes at least 7-8 hours).
That's it. Enjoy it after dinner in those small sweet shot glasses. This is a real treat for people who love coffee.
